Sign up for freeThe Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal (CNaVT) is an internationally recognized certificate that examines Dutch language proficiency.
There are five different types of exams that are guided by the levels from A2 to C1:

The CNaVT certificate can be used in many areas as proof of Dutch language proficiency:
Note: Many universities in the Netherlands or Flanders can determine the level for admission. Therefore it is not obvious that you will immediately admitted with the CNaVT certificate. Please inform yourself about the admission requirements of the respective university in advance.
Take online language lessons with a professional teacher
The exam is divided into three parts that has to be completed:
Part A and B are performed one after the other and a monolingual dictionary is allowed. In Part C, one-to-one interviews are conducted with an official examiner. You cannot use a dictionary here.
All passed exams will be sent to Leuven, where they will be examined by professional proofreaders. In June, the results will be announced.
Passed participants receive the CNaVT certificate.
The CNaVT can be completed in more than 40 countries around the world. You can enroll in one of the exam institutions and take the exam there.
The exams are always take place from 1st to 15th of May every year.

In order to be successful in the CNaVT exam, you should familiarize yourself with the tasks and the exam format in advance. Especially the skill "Speaking and Talking" requires some practice.
