The Dutch adjectives tells you something about the noun. The adjective describes a characteristic of the noun. That is why the adjective is usually placed before of the noun.

When adverbs are placed before the adjectives these are used in an adverbial sense. These words describe the adjective instead of the noun. These adverbs do not get an extra '-e' at the end.
