The formation of this tense is probably the simplest of all tenses. We just need the infinitive of the verb + add the endings -é, -ás, -á, emos, -éis, -án. These endings are the same for all verbs (-AR, -ER, -IR).
Most verbs are regularly conjugated in the futuro simple and are very easy to form.
Personal pronouns | hablar | comer | vivir |
---|---|---|---|
yo | hablaré | comeré | viviré |
tú | hablarás | comerás | vivirás |
él/ ella/ usted | hablará | comerá | vivirá |
nosotros/ -as | hablaremos | comeremos | viviremos |
vosotros/ -as | hablaréis | comeréis | viviréis |
ellos/ ellas/ ustedes | hablarán | comerán | vivirán |
Some of the verbs in future have an irregular stem but we still add the regular endings -é, -ás, -á, emos, -éis, -án
Infinitive | Irregular stem |
---|---|
querer (to want) | querré, querrás, querrá... |

Note that ser and estar are highly irregular verbs except in the future that follow the regular pattern
The futuro simple is used to indicate plans or actions that will take place in the future. However, the future tense in Spanish communicates other messages as well.
Note that in the las example the English equivalent is an indirect question preceeded by I wonder
