Nouns that are formed from the radical of the verbs without their suffix have mostly a maculine gender.
Reminder: the radical of a verb is the part of the verb that remains unmodified when it's conjugated. Example: schlagen - strike laufen - run, walk

There certain masculine nouns that are declined irregulary for differnet cases. They end They are devided into two groups: the weak nouns and the mixed nouns.
Weak masculine nouns have -n or -en as a word ending in every case, except the nominative singular. That's why it is called the N-declension. This table below shows the declination of these kind of nouns.

Mixed masculine nouns are nearly the like the weak masculine nouns. They have -e or -en as a word ending in every case, with one excaptions in the genitive singular: a -s is attached to the end of the nouns.
