First, you need to know that the adjectives are divided in 3 groups
In Slovak language we know regular and irregular gradation.
For example:
English | 1st degree - adjective | 2nd degree | 3rd degree |
---|---|---|---|
nice | milý | milší | najmilší |
distant | vzdialený | vzdialenejší | najvzdialenejší |
heavy | ťažký | ťažší | najťažší |
light | ľahký | ľahší | najľahší |
hard | tvrdý | tvrdší | najtvrdší |

In Slovak language, comparison is used with the word "než", equivalent to "than".
