This chapter will show you an overview of when to use the different future tenses. For a more detailed explanation of the tenses you can take a look at the different chapters of this course, where you will also find exercises to practice the tenses.
Take online language lessons with a professional teacher
The future simple tense is formed with the auxiliary verb 'will' and an infinitive verb.
The future continuous is formed with the auxiliary verb 'to will' and the infinitive verb 'to be' followed by the present participle of the main verb.
The future perfect tense is formed using the auxiliary verb 'will' with the auxiliary verb 'to have' and the past participle of the main verb.
The future perfect continuous is formed by using the future perfect of the verb 'to be' with the present participle of the main verb (verb + ing).

Tense | Usage | Example |

Future simple | The future simple is used to refer to a time later than now, and can express facts. |
