Hej! | What must come into your mind with hej must be hey right? Well you're perfectly right, this is exactly how Swedes greet each other. It is used for all purpsose, for example walking in a shop. |
Hej då! | Hej då! is also extremely used because it means goodbye. Remember that with goodbye, in Swedish you just add då! |
Tack! | Tick! Tack! |
Fika! | Fika is the favorite tradition as it is their coffee break. You will hear this word mostly in winter time. One important thing is to not get this confused with pocket which is ficka. |
Ursäkta | This words stands for 'sorry'. Mostly used for when you are in a hurry, for example running to catch the metro. URSHEKTAA! |
Skål! | This word mean cheers, used when you toast with friends or family with a glass or beer and whatever you're drinking. |

Swedes have a similar and own unique way of expressing themselves. The Swedish words used for greetings are the first words used in each Swedish dialogues just like in English, therefore it is important that you remember as much as you can.
