The tens are enunciated in the same way, as the thirties are represented overhead. For example: 54 = cincuenta y cuatro. Only the twenties make un exception, as it shows the previous table.

The hundreds are pronounces as the tens are added after. For example: 559 = quinientos cincuenta y nueve

Thousands and millions

As you already know the word for a thousand in Spanish, now you can verbalize all the thousands. The construction is: the number of the thousands + the number of the hundreds + the number of tens + units. For example: 5596 = cinco mil quinientos noventa y seis.

The word in Spanish for a million is millón. The explanation of verbalizing millions follows the previously mentioned rule: the millions + the thousands + the hundreds + the tens + units. For instance: 5 810 101 = cinco millones ochocientos diez mil ciento uno.

Ordinal numbers

The ordinal arithmetical values vary in gender. In the case of primer and tercer, we use these forms instead of primero and tercero, when they are followed by masculine singular nouns. For example: primer lugar, tercer puesto, primer ministro (first place, third place, Prime Minister).
