Prepositional pronoun singular forms

* Mí and sí carry the accent mark.
The pronoun sí is used instead of él, ella, ellos or ellas when the subject and object are the same person.
Example:
No puede hacer frente por sí solo a las necesidades de la población. (He cannot cope with people's necessities by himself.)

Prepositional pronoun plural forms
Unlike singular form, plural prepositional pronouns have a masculine and a feminine form.

Examples:
- ¡Vente a trabajar con nosotros! (Come work with us!)
- A vosotros no os gusta viajar. (You do not like travelling.)
- Este libro es para ustedes. (This book is for you.)
- Me iré a Valencia sin ellos. (I will go to Valencia without them.)
List of prepositions used with pronouns

Uses and exceptions
Prepositional pronouns replace the noun that comes immediately after the preposition.
Example:
- Mauricio recibió una carta de Lara. (Mauricio received a letter from Lara.)
- Mauricio recibió una carta de ella. (Mauricio received a letter from her.)
Anyway, the following prepositions have some exceptions in their use:
- a
- con
- de
- entre/excepto/incluso/menos/salvo/según
1. A + pronoun
When used with a, prepositional pronouns have the following uses:
emphasizing the direct object
Example:
A mí no me importa que se haya ido de España. (I do not care if he left Spain.)
making clear who the direct object or indirect object is
Example:
- Lo dijo a ella. (He said it to her.)
- Le gusta a él. (He likes her.)
2. Con + pronoun
When used with con, the pronouns mí, ti and sí appear in the following forms:

Examples:
- Si quieres venirte conmigo, date prisa que ya me voy. (If you want to come with me, hurry up because I am leaving.)
- Si quisieras, puedo ir contigo. (I can go with you, if you would like.)
- Trajeron sus pertenencias consigo. (They brought their belongings with themselves.)
3. De + pronoun
The preposition de (which indicates possession) cannot be used with mí and ti.
This type of construction is replaced by the correspondant possessive adjectives (mi, tu).
Example:
- YES: Mi madre se llama Lorenza. (My mother's name is Lorenza.)
- NO: La madre de mí se llama Lorenza. (The mother of me is called Lorenza.)
4. Entre... + pronoun
The subject pronouns yo and tú are used instead of mí and ti with the following prepositions:

| menos | except | Todos trabajan en Gante menos yo. (Everybody works in Ghent, except I.) |
| salvo | except | Salvo tú, todos los chicos del barrio asisten a la misma universidad. (Except you, all the blokes in the district attend the same university.) |
| según | according to | Según yo, Fernando está enamorado de Ana María. (According to me, Fernando is in love with Ana María.) |
