Postpositions with the ablative case can have more than one meaning.

The postposition 'beri' is used as the synonym for the prepositions 'since' and 'for' in English. When 'beri' is used in the meaning of 'for' it indicates the time period which happened before the moment that is talked about.
'Beri' and 'bu yana' have the same meaning when they are used in the meaning 'since.'
The postposition 'önce' has the meaning earlier/before than something or somebody.
The postposition 'sonra' has the meaning after/later than something or somebody.
The postposition 'başka' has the meaning 'apart from' or 'other than'.
The postposition 'dolayı' is used to show cause and effect relationships and it has the same meaning as 'because of'.
